PREVENTIVE DENTISTRY

A dental hygienist is specially trained in the prevention and treatment of gum (periodontal) disease, which is the main cause of adult tooth loss and to give advice on all aspects of oral health.

• Toothbrushing instruction aimed to help children effectively clean their teeth using timers and special dye tablets
• Fluoride supplements to strengthen developing adult teeth
• Diet advice covering all aspects of a child’s diet
• Fissure sealants coating new adult teeth to reduce the risk of decay in the future

ADULTS

• Oral hygiene instruction
• Diet advice
• Smoking cessation advice recommended by our team
• Toothwear assessment will be carried out at your initial appointment, with advice given on steps to help prevent further wear, and to treat the condition.
